Richard Leonardi spent three years photographing live classical ballet performances of the Hartford Ballet and Ballet Arizona from their theatre stage wings. Ballet photography during a live performance presents both aesthetic and technical challenges. Leonardi recorded strikingly unique, high quality images of the dancers' rapid body movements in low, ever-variable lighting, while operating manual focus lenses and manual exposure cameras exclusively. Richard Leonardi's photographic work for Ballet Arizona was published in both the USA and in France and he is pleased to be able to offer a special limited edition of 5 Fujichrome type R color prints of his most loved ballet image from the series. Each print is numbered and signed by the artist and offered at US$350.00. Cost includes express UPS shipping of the photograph to any country in North America, Europe or Latin America.
