YELLOW DRESS
A poem from Lake Managua

I spoke with God
Pressed against forgotten shores
A rusted lake gracing silent cones
I spoke with God
Walking down a solemn path
Where stood a defiant horse
I spoke with God
She wore a small yellow dress
Dusty little white shoes
I spoke with God
Who saw our fate
But listened too.
